Steve Scott (Pastor)
Thank you for taking time to check us out online. My name is Steve Scott and I have had the wonderful privilege of being married to my best friend, Donya, for 23 years! We have two sons, Connor and Carson and a cat, Finnegan O’Malley (Finn for short). The Lord has been especially gracious in allowing us to be a part of the FBC Basehor family. There is nothing more compelling than a well-taught church walking together in unity and love. We have found First Baptist to be such a church and we cannot wait to see all that God has in store.
We believe that God is passionately pursuing joyful worshippers for Himself. Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we have been made glad in God who has an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the supremacy of His name among the nations. This means that we exist as a local church to exalt Christ, equip believers and engage in mission locally and globally. So if you are looking for a Bible-believing, Christ-honoring, Gospel-centered, mission-driven community of believers please come join us. I know you’ll feel right at home. We certainly do!

Howie Lucas (Youth Ministry)
My name is Howie Lucas. I have lived my entire life in the Kansas City area and have lived here in Basehor since 2000. My wife Ruth moved to Kansas from Bangor, Maine in 1993. She works at the University of Kansas Hospital and is a project manager in the IT department. She has been there for over 18 years. We have 5 awesome children. Chellcy, Cari, and Cole are college students. Colyn and Julianna are in high school.
I worked as a truck driver and operations manager for a welding supply company in downtown Kansas City, MO for 17 years. In 2014 God called me away from that job to work full time with students and families here at FBC Basehor and the surrounding areas. My passion and calling is building relationships with teenagers and families in order to point them to a relationship with the One who saves, Jesus Christ, and to daily die to self and live for Him.
